The item is in very good condition for its age. Made completely of brass, it is free of any cracks, chips, broken/missing pieces or major imperfections.
Minor flaws are present from age & use in the form of dirt & staining, as well as darkening & tarnishing of the metal, but they do not take away from this piece at all. The lapel pin is nicely detailed into the shape of a 7 -point star & the front features a center raised shield/crest emblem which bears a red "Cross" set on a white. Background & the wording "In Hoc Signo Vinces" in gold on a black backing. As well, the star itself has a nice ribbed textured diamond pattern to it.
Lastly, the back of the pin is free of any wording or design, but has its original attached pin & lock mechanism which works great. As well, none of the original paperwork or documentation is present. Altogether makes for a great gift for collectors.
